| About Rose
Rose Pearson earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from York University, majoring in painting and drawing. She went on to get her education degree and taught art at the high school level in Alberta and Ontario for 12 years. She has recently resigned from teaching in the public school system but continues to mentor painters from her studio just outside of Haliburton. Rose is an emerging visual artist who has spent the last eight years
creating bodies of work for solo and group shows at public galleries across
Ontario. She has twice been recognized by the Ontario Arts Council as
a recipient of emerging artist grants. She is a member of the Haliburton
County Studio Tour and is represented by the Ethel Curry Gallery in Haliburton. Rose has two young boys, and it is her family life that fuels her work. She is currently working on a series of paintings based on a child's silver teapot. The solo show "Teapot Inquiry" will be exhibited the summer of 2011 at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery in Minden, Ontario. Rose's work can be found in private collections across Canada,and in Australia, Jamaica, Europe, and the United States. |
